Standin’ on the Corner & Route 66 Legacy

Winslow’s most infamous landmark, the Standin’ on the Corner Park, pays tribute to the Eagles’ classic Take It Easy and has become a bucket-list stop on Route 66. Visitors can pose by the bronze balladeer statue, see the flatbed Ford mural, and browse local shops surrounding the corner. Together with La Posada Hotel and the Winslow Visitor Center in the historic Hubbell Building, these landmarks tell the story of a town deeply woven into America’s road trip heritage.

About Route 66 & Winslow

Commissioned in 1926, Route 66 linked Chicago to Santa Monica and became the symbol of freedom and adventure for travelers crossing the American West. Winslow stood as a welcoming stop along the way — a railroad hub, Harvey House destination, and today a living celebration of that legacy. Our community continues to preserve its spirit through music, art, and the friendliness that makes Route 66 iconic around the world.
