Winslow has added a fun and unforgettable roadside attraction that blends music, history, and Route 66 charm. At the east end of Third Street near the 9/11 Memorial, visitors can now experience Road Tunes—a special stretch of roadway that plays the iconic melody from “Take It Easy” when you drive over it at 35 mph. That’s right—roll down your windows and hear the famous line “Standin’ on a corner in Winslow, Arizona…” come to life through your tires.

This kitschy and clever installation is part of Winslow’s celebration of Route 66’s 100-year centennial, adding even more character to an already vibrant town. It’s one of several creative projects and enhancements being introduced to welcome road trippers, music lovers, and Route 66 enthusiasts alike. Make sure to take a drive, snap a photo, and hear the music that put Winslow on the map—literally!
